Background:
Woodkirk High Specialist Science School is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 19. The school is proud to reflect traditional values and standards but also to employ the best of modern practice and teaching in all areas. Woodkirk is particularly proud of its excellent musical tradition. There are eight full-time specialists PE staff that coach some 35 sports teams. Inter-form competitions and tournaments are a regular feature of school life. The school aims to provide a safe, happy and ordered environment where all children have the maximum opportunities to fully develop their individual skills and abilities.
