Background:

The college enjoys a very pleasant site and an exceptional range of specialist accommodation. This includes excellent physical education and sports resources, well-equipped science laboratories and design technology facilities, a recently refurbished music suite, drama facilities, an attractive learning resource centre and careers library. The college has three state-of-the-art ICT suites, interactive whiteboards, networked computers in every room, access to broadband facilities and video conferencing equipment. As a specialist sports college it encourages participation in physical education and sport, and place great emphasis on promoting healthy lifestyles and developing young leaders. The college offers team sports of all descriptions, in which it enjoys significant success in local, district and national competitions. Trampolining, athletics, outdoor pursuits, dance, fitness and aerobics are just some of the other activities available. Many opportunities exist for students to become involved in extra-curricular activities. These include cultural visits to theatres and art galleries, overseas visits, skiing trips, ice skating, bowling, science visits, summer schools, revision classes, adventurous residential trips and an excellent choice of after-school clubs.
