Background:
Founded in 1860 as a foundation school for the village of Lepton, the school remained in its original premises until 1991. The present accommodation was built in 1968. The village of Lepton itself is steadily expanding and is located just four miles south of Huddersfield. In addition to the national curriculum, French is also taught on a weekly basis. The school has a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities including crafts, environment, choir, recorders, aerobics, football, gymnastics and cross-country. The Football Association awarded the school a Charter Mark for the quality of its football provision. The school will strive to provide a climate for achievement for children and staff within a friendly, caring school.
