Background:

Challenge College opened in September 2000 to serve the Heaton, Manningham and Frizinghall communities. In April 2002, the college moved to brand new, purpose-built premises on North Avenue, in the heart of the city. The college enjoys state-of-the-art facilities, which provide an excellent environment for the students. The college building is housed on four floors, facing on to Canal Road and North Avenue. The school has clear glass roof, which opens when temperatures reach a set level, makes the inner atrium of the school light, airy and spacious. The college employs a very talented staff, all handpicked for the posts they hold and all who have chosen to work at Challenge. They have developed a style of learning which embraces technology and innovative approaches to teaching, coupled with proven traditional methods. One of these approaches is called critical skills where students use brain-based techniques to accelerate their learning. Post 16 courses at Challenge are delivered in collaboration with Laisterdyke School as part of the North Bradford Federation. The school is a 'can do' school where staff, students and parents work hard to achieve the best.
