Background:
Opened in 1992. Buildings date from 1912 and has had various extensions since (1930, 1950, 1970). Has extensive grounds, large playground, field and environmental area. Parents are regularly informed on school policies, curriculum and events. Extra curricular clubs run during and after school include football, rugby, cricket, netball, athletics, choir, recorders, computer, board games, crafts. Working artists regularly visit. School hall used as a gallery for professional, amateur and children's work including oil paintings, Chinese brush work, sculptures, water colours, line drawings, weavings. Works of art through the school raise cultural awareness and aesthetic appreciation. Regular visits to theatre and dance companies also visit. Many sporting achievements, especially football and athletics, including bronze, silver and gold AAA awards. Community links through youth clubs, gymnastics and the local church. Supports at least two charities a term and an average of #1,500 a year is raised for various charities including NSPCC, Barnardos, NCH and Tear Fund. Not over-subscribed.
