Background:
The school is in an 'ideal' location close to the green belt in the heart of Shadwell, where it has been located since 1967. It was 'extensively' refurbished in 1989 and facilities include seven 'spacious, well equipped' classrooms, a hall, kitchen, hard playing area, 'large' playing field and a nature garden. School clubs are considered an 'important extra to school life' and include football, netball, rounders, golf, craft, drama, nature, book and art. Some clubs form school teams which compete against other schools. Shadwell Primary has links with several local organisations, ranging from voluntary groups to commercial organisations. 'We pride ourselves in giving the children an excellent start to their education and take our job of providing the highest standard of education and care very seriously'.
