Background:
Hinchliffe Mill is a Co-Educational Community School offering a broad and well-balanced education for children of four to 11 Years of age. The school is housed in a Victorian building in the upper Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District. The building has recently been extensively refurbished and modernised. The building now has four classrooms, an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) suite, library and staff accommodation. The ground is currently being refurbished to allow active and imaginative play. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which meets the needs of all pupils'. There are a number of extra-curricular activities including choir, recorder, gym club, computer club, and gardening club. Sports also available at school such as gymnastics, rounders, football, cricket, rugby and orienteering. The school has links to the local community, which includes playgroup and the Church. The purpose of this school is to create and maintain a learning organisation that values all in its community and is valued by all in its community. It aims to create an environment where children are able to achieve their full potential.
