Background:
Popular school comprising original, refurbished turn-of-the-century building and 1950s addition, set in several acres of playing fields and environmental gardens in the village of Scholes. A consistent record of achievement in core curriculum subjects, coupled with a reputation for musical and sporting achievements, has helped to make it over-subscribed. Teams compete in a range of sports from swimming to football; regular drama, dance, and musical productions; children write magazines and hold events for various charity fundraising projects. Active parent-teacher association built, and now maintains, a swimming pool and library.
