Background:
Moor Allerton Hall is a community primary school for boys and girls aged four to 11 years. There is a nursery for children aged three to four years. In January 1997, the school was moved into its new two-form entry building on one level on the present site. Each class has its own teaching base and shares a practical area as well as cloakroom. All physical areas of the school are wheelchair accessible. There is a large hall and a separate room for music. Separate playgrounds are available for younger and older children, with access to a woodland area for teaching purposes. The school offers various extra-curricular activities. Sports on offer include football, hockey, netball, rugby etc. Tuition is available on various musical instruments including violin, recorder, steel band, brass, sitar and harmonium. The school aims to provide a warm, secure and welcoming atmosphere in which standards of achievement are high and learning is valued.
