Background:

Opened in 1977 on its own site, surrounded by pleasant playing fields, with three playground areas; seven class bases, each with its own entrance, cloakroom and shared carpeted and tiled areas; an early foundation stage was opened in September 2000. There are infant and junior shared areas, a resource area, an ICT room, and a hall that is used for assemblies, physical education, drama, music and dinning. Curriculum strengths include religious education, English, mathematics, science and ICT. Modern foreign language also taught as specialist subject. Wide ranges of extra-curricular activities offered during lunchtime and after school. These include football, netball, and hockey. The school is a winner of Catholic Schools Netball Tournament 2003 and 2004, runner-up in Catholic Schools Football Tournament 2003 and 2005 and also runner-up of local schools swimming tournament. The school raises funds for various charities such as CAFOD, Leeds Diocese Catholic Care and Christmas Child. Over-subscribed, with two applications per place.
