Background:
Brigshaw High School and Language College is a secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 18. It occupies a large, attactive campus between the villages of Kippax and Allerton Bywater to the southeast of Leeds. The school has excellent accommodation facilities with a well-stocked library, modern science laboratories, drama studios, technology workshops, art studios and a separate music block with ICT suite. In addition, a new floodlit synthetic all-weather sports pitch, mountain bike and cyclo-cross track, changing rooms, car park and access road are being constructed. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The school aims to develop young people as lifelong learners by recognising and unlocking each individual's promise and potential.
