Background:
Opened in 1953, the school stands in 'extensive' grounds in the Lightcliffe area of Halifax and serves three council estates. The school building contains eight classrooms, a large hall and a separate dinning room. The school has strong links with the local community and there is a parents centre within the school. This is an area in which parents can meet and where adult courses are held. There are extra-curricular activities every Tuesday which include rock climbing, sports, art and craft and music. Cliff Hill is an inclusive school where the pupils' talents are celebrated. The children learn within a caring and supportive environment.
