Background:
Larks Hill is a County Primary School (Junior and Infants) for boys and girls within the five to 11 age ranges. The school was opened in September 1974 and is situated in a large private housing development on the South Western side of Pontefract. It has the team sports within the formal physical education curriculum. The school facilitates games, gymnastics, movement/dance, swimming and outdoor adventurous activities within the legal framework of the national curriculum. The school has a netball club, singing club, chess club and sewing club. The school visits are regular features of the curriculum. Visits are organised as part of themes being studied in the classroom and through them it aims to provide opportunities for children to extend their knowledge and experience. It provides before and after-school activities to enhance the learning of pupils.
